Public Relations and Resource Development Position

The position of Public Relations and Resource Development of Stanly County Habitat for Humanity serves as the public relations contact for the organization and reports directly to the Executive Director.  The following are responsibilities of the Public Relations and Resource Development position:

Establishes and maintains public and business relationships between Stanly County Habitat for Humanity and the community of Stanly County at large.

Calls on business and industrial leaders for the purpose of soliciting monetary and labor resources and gifts to fulfill the mission of the organization to construct affordable housing for those in need and solicits products suitable for sale in the Stanly Habitat for Humanity Restore.

Acts at the direction of the Executive Director as the primary spokesperson for the affiliate to represent the Executive Director and Board of Directors in the public forum in speaking engagements to religious, civic, and corporate audiences.

Plans, organizes, and coordinates all aspects (including media relations) of public events and fundraising activities such as Women Build, annual BBQ, and playhouse design and raffle.

Coordinates all committee assignments:

• Helps establish guidelines for committee volunteers and aids in recruiting volunteers for assistance in the Restore.

• Conducts educational classes for potential homeowners and recruits volunteers suitable to lead such classes.
• Works with the Executive Director in long-range planning for fundraisers in anticipation of future housing builds.

30 hrs week;  salary $26,500
